RWI自然拼读法简介

“Read Write Inc”简称 “RWI”课程,是英国牛津的原版课程。

RWI从语音意识开始,帮助孩子掌握原音拼读技巧,从单词到短句到整篇英语文章,层层递进。孩子在这个过程,学会阅读理解,提高英语对话交流能力及灵活写作的能力。

11月6日,副校长Fletcher女士为青岛赫德的学生家长们带来了一场精彩的“RWI自然拼读法”家长工作坊。下面是Fletcher校长关于RWI讲解的精华内容,在此与大家分享。

Ms Fletcher led a workshop for our parents that covered in detail how our Read Write Inc scheme not only develops the children’s phonetical understanding of the English language but also teaches the children how to comprehend and answer questions based on a text and how it develops their ability to write sentences and use grammar and punctuation accurately.

我们深感荣幸能有这么多的家庭参加上周的第二次RWI专题研讨会。虽然第一次会议只着重于介绍了语音和声母教学方案,但在第二次会议中, 我们有机会就写作和阅读理解方面有了更详细深入的介绍。

It was a pleasure to welcome so many families to the second Read Write Inc Parent Workshop last week. Whilst the first meeting focused on the teaching of Phonics and Initial Sounds, the second allowed us to go into much further detail with regards to comprehension and writing.

I shall provide a brief overview of each section of the RWI Curriculum.

 

1.语音

教学方案

Read Write Inc.教孩子们正确理解内容并精确、流利的读出来。他们学习自己组造每个单词,并正确拼写,由此逐步构思自己的作文创作思路。孩子们学习英文字母代码:首先他们学习怎样用一种方法来读40多个语音,并将这些语音合并到单词中,从而他们学习用另一种生动的方式来读同样的语音。

教学理由

只有通过学习认识英文字母及其发音,孩子们才能流利的阅读。孩子们能够通过合并语音发音而自己组造完整的单词。由此而增加他们的词汇量,和加强阅读理解能力。有了透彻的语音知识,孩子们就能够读出新的语音,读出人物的名字和不熟悉的单词,理解新词的含义,跟进故事情节,并在老师停顿时能“跳进”—-补充老师刻意落下的词句,回答老师的当前问题。由此显示学生是否真的跟进老师引导并真正的懂了。

 

1.Phonics

What we do

Read Write Inc. Phonics teaches children to read accurately and fluently with good comprehension. They learn to form each letter, spell correctly, and compose their ideas step-by-step.Children learn the English alphabetic code: first they learn one way to read the 40+ sounds and blend these sounds into words, then they learn to read the same sounds with alternative graphemes.

 

Why we do it

In order for children to read fluently, they should recognize the English alphabetic code and the sound it makes. Children can blend the sounds to form full words. From this, children will increase their vocabulary and understanding. With a clear phonic knowledge, children will be able to read new sounds, sound out the names of characters and unfamiliar words, understand the meaning of new words and track the story, ‘jumping in’ when the teacher pauses.

 

2.阅读理解

教学方案

孩子们阅读的生动语音绘本会与他们日益增长的语音知识和“难懂”的单词紧密相联。他们在学校要把这本书阅读三遍以确保能够轻松流利地阅读。这样,孩子从一开始就体验到了成功。

第三次阅读后,孩子们会把他们的阅读课本带回家,在家里的展示他们学习的新技能。此外,他们将通过一系列的阅读理解疑问来展示他们自己对阅读的理解。孩子们会被问到一个问题,并且必须在当前页找到问题相关回答。

 

教学理由

当学习第二种语言时,孩子们展示自己对不断增加的新词汇已经理解是非常重要的。我们可能会相信我们的孩子觉得这些阅读太“容易”或没有挑战性,但我们必须确保孩子们完全理解了他们所阅读的内容。孩子们会由此而逐步学会新的技能:预测故事结局、讨论和比较故事中的关键时刻,用他们的“说书人的声音”阅读、回答有关故事的问题,并且在家流利地朗读故事。

 

2.Comprehension

What we do

Children read lively phonic books which are closely matched to their increasing knowledge of phonics and ‘tricky’ words. They read this book three times to ensure they can read it fluently and with ease. Children experience success from the very beginning. After the third read, children will bring home their reading book to display their new skills at home. In addition, they will show their understanding through a series of comprehension questions. Children will be asked a question and must find the relevant information on the page.

 

Why we do it

It is important, when learning a second language, that children show an understanding of the new vocabulary that they are building. We may believe that our children are finding reading ‘easy’ or that there is no challenge, but we must ensure that children understand exactly what they are reading. Children will also develop skills to predict outcomes, discuss and compare key moments in the story, read with their ‘storyteller’s voice’, answer questions about the story and read the story fluently at home.

 

3. 写作

一个典型的RWI自然拼读阶段课程包含了学习和练习“快速发音”、阅读和写作。每个颜色系列的故事书都有一本匹配的“习得写作”练习册,里面包含的练习活动可以用来丰富孩子们将要完成的阅读练习。这些练习旨在帮助学生学习句型和语法,同时增加词汇量和培养写作创意思想。这些练习活动通常包括:练习判句、编辑句子和习得写作。

 

3.Writing

A typical Read, Write Inc. session contains a mix of learning and practicing ‘Speedy Sounds’, reading and writing.

 

 Each of the colored storybook bands have a matching 'Get Writing' book that contains activities that can be used to build on the reading activities the children will have completed.

 

The activities are designed to support the learning of sentence structure and grammar but also developing vocabulary and generating ideas for writing. Activities often include:hold a sentence,edit a sentence and get writing.

 

练习判句

教学方案

我在家长研讨会上讨论了“说” 及怎样“说”的重要性,如果一个孩子能说出一个句子,那么她就可以写出一个句子。口头讨论对于孩子们获取英语知识,并取得快速进步是极其重要的。在“判句”的练习活动中,孩子们会听句子,口头重复句子,然后写下这个和他们正在阅读的书相关联的句子。

教学理由

大声的排练句子,讨论单词的拼写和重复句子让孩子们有时间来决定他们到底想写什么,甚至于在笔还没有碰到纸的时候已经想好了写什么。这确保了孩子们真正开始写作时,他们会很清楚自己想写什么。他们还会夸张的来演示何时在一个句子中使用标点符号。

 

Hold a sentence

What we do

I discussed the importance of ‘talk’ at the Parent Workshop and how, if a child can say a sentence, they can write it.

 

Oral discussion is extremely important for children to make rapid progress with their English language knowledge. During a ‘Hold a Sentence’ activity, children listen to, orally repeat and then write a sentence, linked to the book they are reading.

 

Why we do it

Rehearsing the sentence out loud, discussing the spelling of words and repeating the sentence allows children the time to decide exactly what they want to write down, before they even put pen to paper.

 

 This ensures that, when children do begin writing, they are clear on what they want to write down. They will also use dramatic actions to demonstrate when to use punctuation in the sentence.

 

 

编辑句子

教学方案

孩子们编辑一个有许多错误的句子-例如,没有句号,大写和逗号。孩子们会自己找出这些错误并做出相应的修改。

教学理由

孩子们习得在自己的作业中找错误的技能是很重要的。他们如果进行编辑练习,写作水平就会随之进步提高。

 

Edit a sentence

What we do

Children edit a sentence with a number of errors – for example, missing full stops, capital letters and commas. Children will identify these mistakes for themselves and make the appropriate alterations.

 

Why we do it

It is important that children develop the skills to look for errors in their own work. They should edit and improve their writing as they go along.

 

习得写作

教学方案

孩子们的写作题材通常是他们阅读的故事书上的图片,比如真实化一个演说幻想,完成一张“心仪”的海报,或者写一个简单的食谱。

 

教学理由

熟能生巧!孩子写的越多越勤,尝试使用新词汇越多,写作提高就越快。习得写作是用快乐有趣,创造性的方式来让孩子们练习写作的。在RWI自然拼读小组里,孩子们可以和老师一起来检查他们的词汇,拼写和语法。Get Writing

 

What we do

Children will write about a stimulus, often a picture from the storybook they were reading, for example filling in a speech bubble, completing a 'Wanted' poster or writing a simple recipe.

 

Why we do it

Practice makes perfect! The more often children write, improve their own work and try out new vocabulary, the better they will get. Get Writing allows children to practice in fun and creative ways. In their small RWI groups, they can then check their vocabulary, spelling and grammar with their teacher.
